Tofflon Achieves New Global Milestone with Shipment of Six Large-Scale Top-Spray Fluid Bed Systems

Tofflon’s Solid Equipment Division has reached another significant milestone in its global expansion.

Six customized large-scale top-spray fluid bed granulation systems, designed for a leading international pharmaceutical company, have successfully passed rigorous Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and process validation. Fully compliant with international standards, the systems are now ready for overseas shipment—marking another step forward in Tofflon’s commitment to advancing global pharmaceutical manufacturing.

These 1800L top-spray one-step granulation systems are engineered to meet the stringent requirements of European pharmaceutical production. Every aspect of the design is aligned with real-world manufacturing needs, addressing key challenges in large-scale granulation, including capacity, efficiency, and material loss—ultimately delivering measurable improvements in both product quality and cost performance.

1. Large Capacity for Commercial-Scale Production

With a total volume of 1800L, the system is designed to meet full-scale commercial production requirements.

It enables high-efficiency granulation for a wide range of applications, including bulk formulations such as antibiotics and vitamins, as well as generics and specialty APIs.

By supporting large batch sizes, the system eliminates the need for repeated small-batch processing, ensuring seamless handling of high-volume production demands while maximizing operational efficiency.

2. High Efficiency for Optimized Cost and Energy Performance

Compared with conventional granulation equipment, this system delivers significantly enhanced drying efficiency, driven by three key innovations:

Optimized air distribution system ensures uniform hot air penetration through the material bed, accelerating drying performance

Precise temperature control with closed-loop air circulation improves thermal efficiency while reducing energy consumption and processing time

Intelligent airflow regulation dynamically adjusts air volume based on process conditions, maintaining efficiency without compromising product quality

The result is a highly efficient, stable, and energy-saving process that directly contributes to reduced production costs.

3. High Yield with Minimal Material Loss

To address common challenges such as material residue, wall adhesion, and product loss, the system incorporates an advanced flap valve discharge design.

This customized solution enables fully contained, dust-free discharge while significantly reducing material loss during operation. The system achieves near 100% qualified particle yield, ensuring optimal utilization of high-value raw materials.

In addition, improved discharge performance enhances batch-to-batch consistency and supports smoother downstream processing, including tableting and capsule filling—ensuring reliable and consistent product quality.

Driving Global Pharma Manufacturing Forward

From tailored system design to stringent quality control, Tofflon remains committed to supporting pharmaceutical manufacturers with reliable, high-performance solutions.

The successful delivery of these six large-scale systems represents not only international recognition of Tofflon’s capabilities, but also a new starting point for continued global growth—powered by advanced engineering and a commitment to excellence in pharmaceutical technology.
